Customising Confluence look and feel the easy way

Atlassian Confluence is a great wiki environment. It's robust and reliable, with lots of useful functionality. It comes out-of-the-box with a standard look-and-feel but it's not right for every situation. So clients will ask us: can I customise Confluence?

If you need Confluence to fit in with other intranet resources or wikis, you'll certainly need to find a way to customise the user interface. Alternatively, if your users don't use all of the links and functions of the wiki, you might want to hide much of the clutter.
