A dynamic, continuously evolving landscape

The event explored how transformation is no longer optional within financial services organisations. It is continuous, with a need to constantly innovate and evolve. However, businesses must balance dealing with the complexities of compliance, risk and regulation, ensuring standards are met while still constantly innovating and delivering new services.
It's no surprise that AI was a big topic at this year's event. For banking and finance organisations, AI scalability is no longer optional; it's a necessity. Businesses must consider how GenAI can be strategically and safely integrated across functions to enhance operational efficiency.
The customer is the main focus at the heart of everything. To remain competitive, it's essential to embrace and adopt technologies to reduce friction and deliver greater customer experiences.

Key takeaways from the session:

DevEx is not optional
DevEx is a boardroom priority, a strategic lever, not a developer perk. Leaders should think of DevEx like the UX of software development—it's how developers interact with tools, platforms, and processes.
Piggybank
Poor DevEx impacts profitability
The cost of poor DevEx shows up on your balance sheet whether you realise it or not.
Checklist
Innovate while remaining compliant
For FSI the key strategic considerations include the evolving tech landscape, governance, and security.

Modernisation is essential for delivering value
Time to market considerations between Fintech and traditional banks, with multiple differences, such as legacy infrastructure.

Apply a comprehensive view
Improving DevEx involves people, process, architecture, culture, and platforms—don’t treat them as separate systems.
Plane and earth
Consider your full DevEx journey
The five enablers of DevEx are communities of practice, internal developers' platforms, designing for convergence, DevEx survey or maturity assessments, embedding automation and compliance.

Measure DevEx effectively
Measuring DevEx involves a combination of quantitative and qualitative metrics, encompassing aspects like productivity, satisfaction, and the effectiveness of development processes. Key areas include onboarding, tooling, and collaboration. Start by listening to your teams; your developers already know what's broken.
