What this means for Adaptavist customers

This year marked the 14th annual AWS re:Invent, where AI took centre stage. With 60,000 attendees in Las Vegas, AWS showed that AI is no longer the future—it's today's reality.

Celebrating its 14th year, AWS re:Invent 2025 brought together innovators from across the globe in Las Vegas. The theme was unmistakable: AI has moved from experimental technology to essential infrastructure. AWS showcased how organisations across financial services, healthcare, telecommunications, and government are harnessing AI to transform operations and deliver unprecedented value.
The numbers tell a compelling story. AWS has grown into a $132 billion business with 20 percent year-on-year growth, now serving customers through 128 global regions. Their infrastructure handles 200 million requests per second, whilst 100,000 companies are actively building with Bedrock (AWS's fully managed service for foundation models). Amazon S3 (AWS's object storage service) alone stores over 500 trillion objects, cementing AWS's position as the backbone of modern cloud infrastructure.

AWS AI Factories: bringing the cloud to your data centre

One of the most significant announcements at re:Invent 2025 was the introduction of AWS AI Factories. Operating like a private AWS region, this groundbreaking offering allows customer-specific AI infrastructure to be deployed directly within your own data centres. For organisations in heavily regulated industries or those with stringent compliance requirements, this is transformative.
AWS AI Factories mean you can maintain complete control over your data sovereignty whilst still leveraging the full power of AWS's AI capabilities. Your data never leaves your environment, yet you benefit from the same cutting-edge infrastructure that powers AWS's public cloud. This is particularly valuable for financial services firms handling sensitive customer data, healthcare organisations managing patient records, or government agencies with national security concerns.
For Adaptavist customers, this opens new possibilities for AI adoption without compromise. You no longer need to choose between innovation and compliance—you can have both.

Supercharged compute with Trn3 UltraServers

AWS introduced the new Amazon EC2 Trn3 UltraServers, delivering four times more compute power and nine times greater memory bandwidth compared to previous generations. These purpose-built instances are engineered for the most demanding AI workloads, enabling faster training times and more efficient model deployment.
What does this mean for your business? Reduced training costs, faster time-to-insight, and the ability to tackle more complex AI problems. Whether you're building recommendation engines, developing natural language processing applications, or training computer vision models, the Trn3 UltraServers provide the horsepower needed to bring your AI ambitions to life—at a price point that makes sense.

Operational excellence with AWS DevOps Agent

AWS unveiled the DevOps Agent in preview, a frontier agent designed for operational excellence. This always-on service continuously monitors your code and infrastructure, providing in-depth insights and proactive alerts to identify issues before they impact your users.
The DevOps Agent goes beyond traditional monitoring by actively resolving incidents and spotting potential problems in real-time. For organisations managing complex cloud environments, this means fewer sleepless nights for your teams and more reliable services for your customers. It simplifies operations, accelerates resolution times, and transforms your approach to system reliability.
Imagine having an AI teammate that never sleeps, constantly watching over your infrastructure and automatically addressing issues as they arise. That's the promise of the AWS DevOps Agent, and it's available now in preview.

Security that scales with your growth

Security remains paramount, and AWS Security Hub has reached general availability with near-real-time risk analytics. The new AWS Security Agent helps organisations build applications that are secure from the ground up across AWS, multicloud, and hybrid environments.
As AI-accelerated development increases the velocity of software delivery, security can become a bottleneck. The Security Agent addresses this by proactively scanning code for vulnerabilities and even conducting penetration testing automatically. These time-intensive tasks are removed from the shoulders of overstretched security teams, allowing them to focus on strategic initiatives whilst AI handles the routine security checks.
For Adaptavist customers concerned about the security implications of rapid AI adoption, this represents a significant advancement. You can move faster without sacrificing security posture.

Amazon Nova 2: foundation models that scale with your needs

Amazon Nova received a major upgrade with the introduction of Nova 2, available in three tiers designed to scale from everyday workloads up to highly complex tasks. The offering includes a new speech-to-speech capability that enables humanlike conversations, opening new possibilities for customer service applications, virtual assistants, and accessibility tools.
Nova 2 provides organisations with flexible, cost-effective access to powerful foundation models. Whether you're building chatbots, automating document processing, or creating content at scale, Nova 2 offers the right balance of performance and economics for your specific use case.

Comprehensive platform enhancements

Beyond the headline announcements, AWS unveiled 25 additional products and enhancements spanning compute, storage, security, and databases. Highlights include new Lambda functions for automatic recovery, increased object sizes in S3 with faster performance, intelligent tiering capabilities, and new database savings plans that reduce costs for long-term commitments.
These improvements may seem incremental individually, but collectively they represent AWS's commitment to continuous innovation across every layer of the stack. Each enhancement is designed to make your infrastructure more resilient, performant, and cost-effective.

Agentic AI: differentiating with your data

One of the core themes throughout re:Invent 2025 was agentic AI—the concept that organisations can differentiate themselves through their unique data.
Several of our partners, including Atlassian, Datadog, GitLab, Harness and Hashicorp, were highlighting agentic AI functionality with their tools, such as Atlassian’s Rovo.
AWS introduced Transform Custom, a new service designed to modernise code, APIs, and frameworks tailored specifically to your organisation's environment.
This represents a shift from generic AI tools to solutions that understand your specific context, legacy systems, and business logic. Transform Custom can help accelerate your modernisation initiatives, reducing technical debt whilst preserving institutional knowledge embedded in your existing systems.
For organisations struggling with legacy infrastructure, this offers a path forward that doesn't require complete rewrites. Instead, you can incrementally modernise at a pace that makes sense for your business, guided by AI that understands your unique context.

AWS innovations explained

What are AWS AI Factories and why do they matter for regulated industries?

AWS AI Factories operate like a private AWS region deployed directly within your own data centres. This means you can leverage AWS's powerful AI infrastructure whilst maintaining complete control over data sovereignty and compliance. For organisations in financial services, healthcare, or government sectors with strict regulatory requirements, AI Factories eliminate the traditional trade-off between innovation and compliance. Your sensitive data never leaves your environment, yet you benefit from the same cutting-edge AI capabilities available in AWS's public cloud.
AWS Transform Custom is designed to modernise code, APIs, and frameworks tailored specifically to your organisation's unique environment. Rather than requiring complete system rewrites, Transform Custom understands your legacy infrastructure, business logic, and institutional knowledge to guide incremental modernisation. This AI-powered approach accelerates your transformation initiatives whilst reducing technical debt at a pace that makes sense for your business, preserving what works whilst upgrading what needs improvement.
The AWS DevOps Agent is an always-on service that continuously monitors your code and infrastructure, providing proactive insights and automatically resolving incidents before they impact users. Unlike traditional monitoring tools that simply alert you to problems, the DevOps Agent actively addresses issues in real-time and identifies potential problems before they occur. This means reduced downtime, faster incident resolution, and less burden on your operations teams—allowing them to focus on strategic initiatives rather than firefighting.
