Ready for Atlassian Summit 2016?

Atlassian Summit 2016 is nearly upon us and, yes, we're very excited. One thing's for certain, when you get to San Jose you won't have time to do or see everything at Summit. So we've pulled out some of our highlights to help you plan what you to see this year.

Watch, learn and participate

Atlassian Experts, including Adaptavist, will speak and deliver training over the course of Summit. Mike and Scott’s keynote is always hotly anticipated and they will have some way to go to top last year's Daft Punk-inspired opening to Summit proper. This year the featured speakers include Bonnie Beyer from Rockwell Collins, Shawn Butler from VMWare, Amy Knapp from O.C.Tanner and Atlassian's Sherif Mansour. Each promises a fascinating insight into how they are addressing their business challenges with Atlassian software.

There are also many opportunities to network and collaborate including the Women in Tech event (men are also invited, by the way) and the Summit Bash (food, drink, music and entertainment). Then there's the ShipIt Live event, a fascinating show-and-tell with a big prize get your submission in by September 23rd.

Choose from 75 breakout sessions

You can choose from over 75 breakout sessions and lightning talks across 7 different tracks. Lightning talks can be a great way to expose yourself to new ideas, perspectives and others experiences with Atlassian. We're sure to be checking out some of the Team and Culture sessions.

  • Plan and Track
  • Build and Deploy
  • Service and Ops
  • Improve and Innovate
  • Team and Culture
  • Extend and Scale, and
  • Platform and APIs.

Get Fast then Faster with Dan Hardiker

Our own Dan Hardiker, Chief Evangelist, will be delivering a Lightning Talk: Fast then Faster A Retrospective on Retrospectives. Covering JIRA Software, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Fisheye / Crucible, Dan will walk through what good and bad retrospectives look like, how to tell when they're failing, and how to uncover what's lurking behind bias, ego, and protocol.

Don't forget the certified Atlassian training

Our certified Atlassian trainers will be hard at work on the Monday and Tuesday (10th and 11th October) delivering Atlassian training. With a range of half-day and full-day courses planned, there's something for everyone at introductory, intermediate and advanced levels. There are even two-day Scrum courses this year. You can book your courses on the Summit website.

  • JIRA Software: introductory and intermediate levels including essentials, administration, workflows and reporting
  • JIRA Service Desk: introductory levels to getting a service desk up and running
  • Confluence: introductory level integration and intermediate system administration
  • Certification Prep: intermediate Agile development and advanced JIRA administrator or confluence administrator prep
  • Scrum Alliance Training: intermediate Scrum Master or Scrum Product Owner
  • Integrations: intermediate JIRA Cloud add-ons and Bitbucket Cloud add-ons
