In Confluence, you can leverage AI to enhance teamwork and improve content creation, including summarising pages and blogs; ask questions about your content; understand confusing lingo; generate and improve content using prompts; and make your content more interactive with Smart Links.

Atlassian Rovo

You can also access Atlassian’s latest AI product to find exactly what you need in the context that's relevant to you, without needing to switch tools. Built around three core pillars Rovo helps you find and connect your work, learn from it, and take action.
  • Find – search through your data, tools, and platforms (including third-party apps) to find the information you need with all your existing permissions respected.
  • Learn – unlock accurate, in-depth answers to your questions using snapshot-style knowledge cards while you're working, use Rovo Chat to ask questions and generate ideas, and demystify any jargon you don’t understand.
  • Act – lean on virtual teammates to carry out some of your workload, including creating and editing content, streamlining tasks, recommending best practice, onboarding new starters, and encouraging collaboration.

Automation and insights

With Atlassian Cloud, you get advanced automation tools and insights that can have a real impact.

Explore the roadmap

Atlassian is always innovating to bring new game-changing features to its Cloud users. So there’s a lot more where that came from.

What’s the difference between Cloud and on-prem Server and Data Center?

Cloud, first and foremost
Atlassian is a Cloud-first organisation, so innovative energy is focused on improving and introducing new features on Cloud. If you want the latest and greatest, that’s where you need to be.
Server’s not supported
Server has now been sunsetted, which means it’s no longer supported by Atlassian. For those yet to make the switch, broken features and the risk of security breaches significantly increase.
Step up from Data Center
Many customers previously on Data Center, who have already successfully migrated to Cloud, are now enjoying all the latest features as well as enterprise-grade benefits. And you could be next!

Think Cloud isn’t for you? Think again.

For a long time, those in heavily regulated industries with data residency requirements and high security concerns felt unable to commit to Atlassian Cloud. But times are changing. Now, many of those same businesses have successfully made the transition. So what are you waiting for?
At Adaptavist, we can help analyse your requirements and understand how Atlassian Cloud can meet your needs and more. Speak to us about our Migration Assessment packages today.

Time to migrate? Find out how

What to consider
Before you launch into migration, all keyboards blazing, there are a few key considerations to think about.
What’s your migration method?
chevron icon
When it comes to migration, there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. Deciding which migration strategy to adopt will depend on your specific business goals and scenarios. Here are the three most common approaches:
  • Big bang – an 'all at once' migration where you move your entire data set to Atlassian Cloud in a single window with a predetermined downtime.
  • Phased – clearly defined stages to tackle migration, with each increment undergoing testing and bug fixes before the next phase starts.
Start fresh – a brand new Cloud instance with zero baggage, ideal if you've got no restrictions or dependencies, or you're spinning up a new team.
You might not need to migrate everything. Work through your existing apps, tools, and data to understand what you need to bring and what can be left behind. This can help ensure you’re not wasting time and resources migrating obsolete data.
Talk to your users to understand what they need and how migration will affect them. They might have questions about scalability, flexibility, and continuity, or specific security needs. With this knowledge in hand, you’ll have everything you need to make migration as smooth as possible.
Setting an estimated timeline for migration, with everyone’s commitment and the various stages built in is key for buy-in. As is a clear idea of what it currently costs to run your workload, how that will change when you move to Cloud, and where you can maximise efficiency and eliminate waste in the process.

Make migration happen, one step at a time

Migration won't happen overnight, even if you're doing a big bang approach. It's a complex process that requires a significant amount of planning and preparation, as well as effort after the fact to ensure you get the most out of your new Cloud-based home.
1. Trigger, explore, and reach out
This is probably what you're doing right now – thinking of moving to Cloud, exploring your options, and starting to involve the right people, including solution partners like Adaptavist.
2. Choose
This stage is about setting clear goals, putting them into perspective, identifying potential risks, and bringing stakeholders on board.
3. Organise
Next you’ll focus on the details, planning and preparing for migration to take place. This includes cleaning up your instances and ensuring everyone’s on the same page.
4. Migrate
This involves backing everything up, testing the migration to uncover issues, and creating a realistic and detailed migration runbook. And then the actual migration itself.
5. Support, resolve, and learn
With migration complete, it’s time to welcome users, put adequate support in place so they can follow best practice, and learn from any issues that crop up.
6. What’s next?
It’s time to make the most of your investment in Atlassian Cloud, including assessing your DevOps tools and processes and how to improve your ITSM efforts using Jira Service Management.
