Atlassian Apps Licensing FAQs

Why do the plugins require a license?

Our plugins have always been covered by a license. By generating a unique electronic license, end users are assured that they are not in breach of a products license and that the product being installed is genuine. The information provided during the licensing process enables us to better understand how customers are using our plugins and help us to make better plugins.

Where can I find your End User License Agreement?

You can view it at Adaptavist EULA. In an attempt to meet everyone’s needs we have made our EULA almost identical to Atlassian’s, which you have already agreed to in your use of Atlassian software such as Confluence or JIRA. You confirm you agree to it when going through the license generation process on our site.

What do you mean by a perpetual license?

A perpetual license licenses a product indefinitely, meaning you can continue to use our plugins even after their maintenance period has expired. However, it’s only during the maintenance period that you are able to upgrade the licensed plugin to a newer version. Beyond your maintenance period, you can only use your existing version of the plugin.

Is it true that your commercial plugins are free to those with a free Confluence license?

Yes! Those with Starter, Community, Non-profit, Open Source, Developer and Demonstration Confluence licenses are eligible for a free licenses to our commercial plugins. This license lasts for one year and can be renewed for free. Our intention is to help organisations with such licenses get the most out of Confluence by being able to use our plugins without charge. There are no hidden charges and you don’t have to pay when you renew.

How do I uninstall a plugin?

You can uninstall a plugin by following the guidance provided by Atlassian, which also covers removing malfunctioning plugins.
