I've seen it referenced in the clickr and mmx layouts but it's not showing up (programatically) on my tabs.

the code in the panel layout pane i'm using is:

{ul:class=foldertab}
	{compound-menuitem:normalView|caption=View}
	{compound-menuitem:edit|caption=Edit}
	{compound-menuitem:pageattachments|caption=Attachments (%count%)}
	{compound-menuitem:information|caption=Info}
{ul}

Trying to mimic default confluence functionality.

    You'll need to use builder-show and builder-hide macros to add in the "current" class as appropriate. For an example of how we do the tabs at the side of this page, see 3 - Tabs. It's not for the feint hearted!

      Cool. I'll let you know how it goes.

  2. the 'current' in velocity based layouts is generally hardcoded, it was decided quite early on that the process of determining the 'current' state was far too much processing to be doing for each and every menulink (it's a lot of extra load for something that most people wont use), so as a result we have kept the need for hardcoding but provided tools to help automate it (builder-show/hide).

    PS: you can use the menu/submenu/sub-submenu macro in place of the ul macro ... this gives the additional benefit of automatically removing separators when they are not needed (eg two side by side, or at the beginning/end of the list)
