I upgraded to ATB 3.3.5-M3 (from 3.3.5M2). Great to see that hovering over a username shows the new Confluence 3.0 popup (for latest status and follow).

Unfortunately, the Builder administration and manage builder layouts options no longer work. Builder admin shows the 6 tabs, nothing else but the sandbox (moise pointer) for a long time. Manage builder layouts stops after showing 'Manage layouts', just below the breadcrumbs - the remainder remains white.

I have two questions:

  • Do you know a way to enable the hoover effect over a link containing a username? I use the {page-info} macro to show the created-user etc in the footnotes. It would be nice to see the new info when hoovering over.
  • Is there a way to enable the status update for a user? With the {webui} macro, I see a "Update status... option in the Update Status User Menu Section, but clicking that link navigates to the home page of the personal space of the current user.

Thanks in advance, regards, Herman.

P.S. Environment: Confluence 3.0.0_01, ATB 3.3.5-M3, Java 1.6, Tomcat.

I'm having the same trouble with the status update menu item. Links to the user's space/profile instead of showing any window or form to update the status.

Using Confluence 3.0.1 (standalone) and Theme Builder 3.3.5-conf210.

    Herman -
Regarding your trouble managing themes, you need to go to the Builder Downloads page and download the -conf210 version. Uninstall, then manually install this jar and you should be good to go.

    1. The status update menu item is incompatible with the builder menu system.

The only way that this can work is if you place it directly on a panel outside of a menu.

        Thanks, Alain. Works great.

          Hi Jessica,

How did you make the Status Update link?

Can you tell me how to remove it from the user menu? Since it doesn't work, it just confuses people...

        Hello Alain,

Do you know if this will be resolved with version 4 of theme builder?

Also, are you saying if I have a link to the 'update status' button, would it work?
Such as, could I put a link in the footer section (using theme buidler) to 'Update Status' and would it work? (so long as its not in a menu)

If so, could you please provide me with the code to do this.

Thank you and have a fantastic christmas!!

Unlikely, we're not going to be able to replace the whole menu system for the 4.0 release.

          Options are:

          1. Just output the link as text (ie. not in a menu) and it will work (if you're using compound-menuitem macro don't forget the flat=true parameter)

          2. Use a different menu system - eg. upload your custom menu javascript as layout resource (something like suckerfish or other open source menu). Main thing is the menu system must not alter the link html (which the current Builder menu system does = broken status updtate link)

It's going to take us seveal months to replace the menu system in Builder (Dynarch hMenu) with something better, it's a non-trivial task considering how many customers it will affect (over 2,000). We've already been working on a new system for the past few months but it's nowhere near ready for deployment to the plugin.

Thanks for the speedy response Guy.

            I'll give it a go.
