Overview

This macro outputs a link to the create community action. It is intended to be used mainly by theme developers or administrators setting up their site, to insert a link for other users to create communities.

Usage

{create-community}Create a community!{create-community}

When the link is clicked, the user will be taken to the Create Community screen from where they can customise and add their new community.

Users require the create space permission to be able to create communities, therefore this macro will only ouput the body content if the viewing user has create space permission.

If set to true, any params provided to the create community action will not be shown as input fields for the user to select. e.g. setting the communityType param and setting simpleInput to true will cause the Community Type input selection not to be shown.

  • homepage - the new space homepage
  • invite - the invite users action

FAQs

 I don't see a link when I use this macro?

In order for you to be able to create a community, several conditions must be met:

  • You must have the global "Create Space" permission, which allows you to create Spaces in Confluence.
  • There must be at least one Community Type defined (see Community Types)
