Announcement: Retirement of 11 Add-ons

Adaptavist will be retiring 11 of its Atlassian Add-Ons as of 26th August 2014. This decision has been taken where the functionality has been superceded or incorporated into the host Atlassian product or where integration has become too difficult to maintain. Retired Add-Ons will continue to receive product support in line with our Support SLA until the end of 2014 or until your current license expires (in the case of Advanced Search and Confluence Dashboards).

Retiring these products means that we can focus all of our efforts on creating and supporting our range of Enterprise-focused Add-Ons that extend and enhance Atlassian's applications.

Continuing our track record in Atlassian Add-Ons

Adaptavist has delivered over 100 Atlassian plugins over the last ten years, including the first commercial plugin ThemeBuilder for Confluence and a firm favourite in the Confluence Community, Content Formatting Macros. In that time we've evolved from a group of enthusiast developers throwing out plugins as we had the ideas into a one of the largest Atlassian Enterprise Experts.

Our customers have millions of users and they increasingly depend on the performance and functionality of their Atlassian applications. As an Enterprise-focused Atlassian Expert our customers rely on the advice and solutions we deliver. It is these needs that drives our focus. We've always cared about the quality of what we produce. However, our free plugins have historically been about making additional functionality available quickly rather than prioritising Enterprise grade stability and support.

Dedicated product development and support

In the last couple of years we've built out dedicated Product Development and Support teams. We've invested in them and applied extra rigour to the quality assurance of our plugins. We've engaged with our Enterprise customers through our interactions in Managed Services, Professional Services and Training. We've launched and revised products that address their needs and agreed a development roadmap for each one.

The Add-Ons that remain in our portfolio will receive first-class support and attention. The resources we save by retiring these 11 legacy products will be invested in developing and releasing exciting new products that you will see in the Atlassian Marketplace in the coming months.

The details of the products being retired are below along with a list of FAQs.

Adaptavist Add-Ons Retirement FAQs

In case of additional questions, please get in touch with our Product Support Team plugin-support@adaptavist.com.

Will the add-on installed in my Confluence stop working when Adaptavist archive it in the Atlassian Marketplace?
No. You can continue to use the Add-On for the license tier and Confluence version you are currently using. You will continue to be able to access all your content created with the Add-On. However, we will no longer be providing maintenance releases after the specified archiving date. As a result, if you upgrade your version of the host Atlassian application, there may be compatibility issues with the retired Add-On.

Will Adaptavist continue providing any level of support for the retired Add-Ons?
Yes. Adaptavist will continue to provide product support in line with our Support SLA for the archived Add-Ons up until 31st December 2014 or until your existing license expires in the case of Advanced Search and Confluence Dashboards with a deadline of August 2015. The support service will apply only to the Add-On versions released and available in the Atlassian Marketplace. Support beyond December 31st 2014 may be available on a Professional Services basis. You can continue to raise a support request via our contact form.

My organisation depends on your add-ons that are on the published retired list. How can Adaptavist help us?
We realise that some organisations will be dependent on our Add-Ons for some of their functionality and have taken this into account with our decision to archive these add-ons. Whilst we are no longer able to provide product releases, we can provide bespoke development for these Add-Ons on a Professional Services basis, allowing you to obtain a version compatible with the relevant version of the host Atlassian application.
