The Customer

Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication are a small, specialist HEI serving the creative sector (design and broadcasting).

The Challenge

Ravensbourne required a system for "collaborative document development" and a "personalised model of elearning that extended beyond the VLE" or Virtual Learning Environment. They wanted to ensure that they used the right tools for the right job and did not abuse their VLE "as one silo to rule them all".

 



The Solution

Atlassian's Confluence with Theme Builder and other plugins by Adaptavist.

They were encouraged by Confluence's "ease of use and deployment" as well as its "LDAP integration" and alternative authentication options, combined with the "customisability and flexibility" offered by our Theme Builder plugin.

Results

"We use Confluence both in learning and teaching and in administrative operations." Since deploying the system they were able to deliver great results straight away, with "student-generated documentation of technical resources" and "portfolio/aggregators for personal and professional development". They found Adaptavist to be "nice people whose stuff just works".
