jQuery
I'm totally loving the jQuery JavaScript library. It's got some minor bugs but it rocks!
The developers and community are by far the friendliest of the JS framework communities.
There are now over 100 jQuery plugins that extend the library to do everything from CSS manipulation to UI components.

Datejs
I've recently found a ninja JavaScript Date Library called Datejs.
Like jQuery, the developers and community are super-friendly. The library is still in alpha but is already proving ninja worthy.
