AUG after-party Adaptavist meet-up

It's not that we like beer or anything (moi? beer? meh non!) but we're organising a post London Atlassian User Group pub crawl to discuss Confluence and JIRA in the Enterprise / Education markets for anyone who is interested...

For details on the AUG in London (22nd May 2008) click here – the AUG itself is mainly about Atlassian's developer tools but our pub crawl will be more about Confluence most likely.

We've already got a small herd of our larger customers attending and welcome anyone else who wants to join. In usual Adaptavist (and indeed Atlassian) style, there'll be a dollop of "beer vouchers" so the first few hours of beer drinking discussion about Confluence and JIRA will have free "refreshments".

Whether it'll be a proper pub crawl or more of a "first bar we found was nice so we stayed until 4am" is a complete unknown, we'll just see how it pans out.

EDIT: Hrm, maybe we do like the occasional drink...

Here's a direct link to the comment that announced this - please register your interest against that.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who attended. While the meeting was mainly aimed at developer tools (JIRA, Bamboo, Crucible, Clover and Fisheye), about half the attendees were our customers and the Birds of a Feature (BOF) sessions were dominated by Confluence related discussion.

There was a great presentation by Sonali from StatPro about their StatPro Direct wiki which we've spent the last few years hosting, supporting, customising and generally abusing to the point where it's no longer recognisable as a wiki. Hopefully Sonali will let us have a copy of her presentation or a case study so we can give you a preview of the customisations.

Myself and Dan Hardiker chaired two separate groups - one on Confluence customisation and another on general question and answers (amusingly titled "Ask Dan"). No doubt Dan will be doing something similar when he attends the Frankfurt AUG on Wednesday this week.

The BOF sessions gave us lots to think about and have given us a much better insight in to the issues faced by customers and what sort of things we want to do at the next AUG in the UK (later this year - Adaptavist will be sponsoring and it'll heavily revolve around Confluence).

It was kind of freaky to see just how many people there were using Theme Builder or other Adaptavist plugins and the ways in which they use them. During and after the BOFs, the overhead projector was dominated by examples of wikis that had been customised using Builder.
