One thing that I love about using a Mac is the vast array of quality apps available for it.
Anyone who's ever looked at my machine is shocked/appalled at the number of apps I have installed. I guess I'm not really proud of this fact, it's just a by-product of trying everything out.

Oh CSSEdit what would I do without you? Just a wonderful little app. The preview makes deconstructing layouts so much easier. I use in conjunction with Firebug.

Find out more Although I still feel the for need Illustrator and Photoshop, if push came to shove I could cope with Fireworks alone. For image slicing and preparing layouts, it beats Photoshop. I find it preferable to Photoshop for image optimising too.

Free Ruler
It's Free! And it's a ruler! Seriously though, I can't do without my little ruler. Unfortunately I think they've stopped working on FreeRuler. Removes the guesswork and saves hours of faff. I've yet to find anything as good for pc.
Skitch
How cool is Skitch? Very cool, is how cool. See Skitch.com Makes creating tutorials/documentation a dream. Or rather it removes the barrier of creating images for tuts and docu by making the process 90% easier. And it is FREE.
