Adaptavist can provide up to 3TB in our standard chassis and additional disk arrays if needed - ask for details. |

|
 |

| Access to Operating System |
|
 |
 |
Adaptavist also provide fully customisable security including hardware firewall option - ask for details. |
| More than 5000 users |
|
 |
 |
Use a Topaz server for up to 20,000 users (depending on usage) or a Diamond server for up to unlimited users (you might need to cluster depending on usage, using cheaper Sapphire servers). |
The two services are very different, please read this page to fully understand the differences.
Atlassian's "Enterprise Hosting"
Atlassian's service is a Virtual Private Server (VPS) solution where multiple organisations share the same physical server, but each has a virtual operating system and one dedicated application:
Each organisation has a dedicated application, on a shared server
Atlassian's solution is cheaper if you're hosting less than 100 users, however Adaptavist can provide even cheaper options - see Shared Hosting vs. Enterprise Hosting.
Adaptavist's "Dedicated Hosting"
Adaptavist's service is very different - you get a dedicated physical server and you can host multiple applications on it (eg. streaming media servers like Parleys.com do):
Each organisation has a dedicated physical server on which multiple applications can be installed.
The entire machine is dedicated just to you - total segregation from other organisations and uncontended (dedicated) RAM, disk space and CPU. You can allow other organisations to access your applications if desired.
Adaptavist's service is best suited to customers who require maximum performance or the ability to install multiple applications. It's also far cheaper when hosting larger numbers of users.
Cost Comparison
Please read the text below carefully so you are fully aware of the cost factors involved should your decision be made on a cost-only basis.
Both Atlassian and Adaptavist offer discounts for paying annually in advance which gives the minimum cost over 12 months.

If you need lower prices, check out Shared Hosting vs. Enterprise Hosting.
Notes:
- An exchange rate of 1 GBP to 2 USD has been used, whereas the actual exchange rate is often something like 1:1.95 thus making Adaptavist prices shown above more expensive than they actually are - please see xe.com for current exchange rates
- The hosting band shown is based on our existing customer's use of the service. If you've got less than 1000 users and don't need a dedicated physical server, be environmentally friendly and use Shared Hosting.
- Adaptavist offer a 20% hosting discount for non-profit organisations, this discount has not been included in the figures above.
License Fees
When you host with Atlassian, you do not require a license - it's included in the price.
When you host with Adaptavist, you will require a Commercial or Academic license (unless you are a non-profit organisation in which case the license is free). Adaptavist offer a 10% discount on license fees which are hosted with us.
If you already have a license, you don't need to buy one from us. Simply host your existing license - we'll transfer the data free of charge.

Notes:
- The license is owned by you, not Adaptavist. You can transfer your wiki to any other hosting provider or host it within your own data centre.
- The license key is sent directly from Atlassian, it is a full license and is exactly the same as you would get if you purchased directly from Atlassian, just 10% cheaper.
- The license is perpetual, it lasts forever and does not expire.
