Update of DNS settings for shared hosting clients using their own domains

Dec 24, 2009 10:23

Updated due date from the 3rd of Jan to the 12th of January

Dear customers,
We're letting you know that if you are using your own domains to access your application then you will need to apply a change to your DNS records before the 12th of January 2010.

We're moving from one data-centre to another more robust one in Manchester in order to address some of the issues we've had with Shared hosting in the recent weeks. Unfortunately we're unable to take our current IP address range with us, so that mean that any if you are using your own domain e.g. wiki.mydomain.com you may need to update your DNS records.

If you are using CNAME records for your domains then you do not need to make any changes.
e.g. www.yoursite.com. 86400 CNAME yoursite.wiki-neon.adaptavist.com.

However, if you are using A records for your domains then you will need to update those. You will need to change the IP address for your A records to 92.63.141.56

Those of you using our secure domain. e.g. yoursite.secure.adaptavist.com will need to change any A records to point at 92.63.141.57

Documentation about using your own domain names for your Adaptavist hosting is available here - http://www.adaptavist.com/display/Host/Domain+Names

If you are unsure about the above, please create a new Hosting Support ticket on our customer support portal https://tracker.adaptavist.com with your question, please remember to reference the URL you normally use to access your site.

We wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.

The Adaptavist Hosting team.
