Icons in Coupound-MenuItems Display Tooltips

I'm using compound-menuitems in my menubar with icons attached to them. I have disabled tooltips in both the menubar macro syntax and in the Theme's settings in the Menu section of the Layout Manager. Yet when we have the mouse hover over the icons, we will see tooltips from the icon itself, such as "key1" or "door2". Is there any way to disable these?
