Custom dashboard

I just followed instructions on the 'Custom Dashboard' page to customize my 2.10.4 Confluence after installing Builder 3.3.6-m3. I setup the redirection to a space for my new dashboard, but when I logged in, I show a momentary redirection page. That didn't seem right. Why is this method better than just changing the 'Site Homepage'? How can I keep that redirection page from showing?
