Custom Layout is ignored in Create or Add New Page mode

I have three different projects and have three layout themes assigned for each project other than the default layout for the space. Iim using builder-show with project page title & mode=view,edit,create-page and use-layout with id to assign the layouts for the projects. In the view and edit mode the project pages take up their respective themes. But when I try to create/add a new page on the project pages it ignore the project theme and takes up the default layout. I understand that the create page is at SPACE level and edit & view are at PAGE level. But is there a way (other than adding layout=myprojlayout querystring in the hardcoded create.action url) to force my project layout even when I'm creating/adding a new page.
