We're looking for UK-based support staff for wiki notation and preferably CSS, HTML and JavaScript...
This position is ideal for anyone wanting to get a "foot in the door", learn the ropes and then move up to senior developer or consultant roles in the company.
Job Description
Our customers report support queries using our online issue tracker and you'll work directly with them to solve their problems or answer their questions.
Some examples of common support requests include:
- Which macro do I use to achieve <something>
- How do I use <whatever> macro to do this, or are there any alternatives
- Which plugin is <whatever> macro in
- How do I style the output of <whatever> macro
As well as answering their questions, you'll also update our online user guides to make sure they contain up-to-date information and examples.
You'll need great communication skills and should ideally be a pretty fast typist as our support system is text based.
You'll obviously need to know Confluence wiki notation and should ideally be familiar with macro notation, but it's something that you can easily learn on the job.
Further Opportunities
If you get really good at helping customers with wiki notation, macros and styling, you can get involved with bespoke customisation, training and content work which will yield a higher salary.
If you're particularly good with HTML, CSS and (optionally) JavaScript, you can also get involved in plugin development tasks such as making macros output more semantic HTML, etc. Again, this will yield a higher salary.
In order to obtain these higher positions, you'll need to prove you're capable of doing them.
Salary
Negotiable depending on employment term (part-time, placement or permanent), skills and experience.
Employment Term and Benefits
We have part-time, placement year and permanent contracts available.
Full time employees get all the usual benefits including health care, computers, etc.
Working hours are insanely flexible - we're more interested in getting tasks completed (to high quality) than number of hours worked.
Oh, and you also get to work from home - or indeed anywhere that has an internet connection.
