Advanced Search Options
The options panel that appears at the side of the search results allows you to change your search criteria including grouping the results by type or site and restricting results by date or particular content types:
Searching File Attachments
The contents of the following types of file attachment can be searched along with all the other content on your site:
- Word, PDF and RTF documents
- Excel spreadsheets
- PowerPoint presentations
- XML, source and text files
For example, if you upload a PowerPoint presentation that contains the phrase "Sales Projections" on the third slide, then the search engine would find it and display it in the results!
Stored Searches
Using the search macro, you can embed a live search directly in any page, a simple way to collect every page that covers a particular subject:
