What are Bespoke Solutions?

There are times when Confluence, JIRA and Crowd and their existing plugins don't meet 100% of your requirements and as a result you find yourself looking for a proactive partner who can help you fill the gaps by providing custom plugins, customisations and integration tailored to your exact needs.

Atlassian products can be extended in many ways using Plugins – SOAP, XML-RPC, decorators, themes and macros are just some examples of the types of plugins that are available.

As our company name suggests, we're highly adaptive to the requirements of our clients and provide a comprehensive range of bespoke solutions such as plugins, consultency and documentation.

Adaptavist have extensive experience of Atlassian products, especially Confluence's plugin system - we've worked closely with Atlassian to improve the plugins system and have made modifications to the resources servlet and plugin manager in order to improve performance and ease-of-use.

Our Confluence Plugin Repository, which won first prize, is now a core part of Confluence and contains a growing number of third party plugins that can be easily installed, upgraded and audited directly from within Confluence.

We have in-depth experience of almost every available plugin for Confluence and in many cases we'll be able to find a solution without needing to develop a new plugin.

We're also big fans of JIRA and Crowd and have recently started developing plugins, customisations and integrations for those products.

Like our clients, we make extensive use of Atlassian products ourselves – for example, Confluence for this website, JIRA for our Public Issue Tracker and Crowd for single sing-on so you only have to login once.

When combined with our standard solutions, such as product licensing and hosting, we can provide you with a single-source solution that is also highly cost effective as you would expect for a single vendor solution.

How does the service work?

Simple - contact us and tell us what you require.

We'll probably need to spend a few days bouncing emails back and fourth and maybe the odd phone call - we're very particular about gaining a full understanding of your requirements before we'll take on work.

A quote will be provided and we'll draw up a specification for the work and confirm availability.

We do the work, you pay (projects over 5 days might require a percentage up-front payment) and get the full source code and any other assets.

Bespoke Plugin Development

We're not the cheapest company to use by any means – that's because our skills are always in high demand.

• If we develop a plugin for you, you will always be given the source code upon final payment
• If you're willing to open source the plugins we develop for you (or allow us to further develop them and re-sell them), we'll contribute 20% of the development costs.

Custom Plugin Repository (Confluence)

If you need a customised list of plugins to be presented in the Confluence Repository Client, such as plugins that have been approved by or developed by your organisation, we can help you set-up repository portals tailored to your needs. This is especially helpful for large organisations that might have multiple Confluence installations and need to include their private plugins in a more manageable fashion.
