Job Description

We're looking for someone who's an utter perfectionist when it comes to reconciling payments, but who isn't stuck in the pre-internet accounting dark ages.

We predominantly trade in 5 currencies (GBP, USD, EUR, AUD, CAD) but at times trade in as many as 15 currencies.

We take payments via cheque, bank transfer (BACS/IBAN/SWIFT), online payments via PayPal and credit card payments via fax or phone and have 6 distinct bank accounts (reserves, money in and out, online, etc).

With customers in 55+ countries and sales ranging from £30 to £100k arriving from all directions 24 hours a day, plus all the usual payments to suppliers, there's a lot going on for a company of our size.

As well as providing reports to our chartered accountants, you'll also provide ad-hoc financial reporting to members of staff - at Adaptavist, everyone in the company can review the company accounts to see how their part of the business is doing.

In a purely accounts/financial role, there's obviously a route to becoming financial director of the company. If you're keen on that idea, you need to make a massive difference to the financial side of our business and really excel.

Being good with money you can easily move in to sales (either completely or on an ad-hoc basis). You'd need to know how to put an invoice together, including discounts and currency conversions, etc., to be suitable for that.

Salary

Negotiable depending on employment term (part-time, placement or permanent), skills and experience.
