Builder 2.0 - Beta Testers Wanted

Builder 2.0 - Beta Testers Wanted

Prior to the official launch of Builder 2.0 we are seeking existing clients who want to be beta testers...

To be eligible for the beta testing, you must:

  • Already be using the Builder theme, at least version 1.5.3
  • Have a development installation of Confluence on which to test (under no circumstances should you install Builder 2.0 on your live or production server)
  • Have a few hours/days to play around with the theme settings and check through some Confluence content and features to make sure nothing's broken

If you'd like to be a beta tester, please Contact Us. We are currently preparing a Space on adaptavist.com to coordinate the beta testing phase.

The release cycle for this version is currently expected to be:

  • Builder 2.0 DR1 - Final beta testing stage of main theme components, expected to start within 7 days
  • Builder 2.0 DR2 - Testing of the new colour picker and any bug fixes from DR1
  • Builder 2.0 PR1 - Early adopters' pre-release of the theme with full functionality, although there may be a few undiscovered bugs
  • Builder 2.0 - Official release of Builder 2.0

The development releases (DR1 and DR2) and any pre-releases (PR1, etc) should not be installed on live or production Confluence installations.

Builder 2.0 - Sidebars and Menus

Builder 2.0 - Sidebars and Menus

In our second sneak preview of Builder 2.0 we look at the new sidebars and menu features...

We've had numerous requests to add editable sidebars in to the Builder theme - your wish, our command:

Just like the footer in Builder 1.x, the sidebars are populated using simple wiki notation making it really easy to create custom left and right navigation panels.

Both sidebars are optional and you can even allow end-users to hide them by clicking the "slider" that appears next to them.

As you can see, menus can now be placed in the sidebars because we've developed several macros that allow you to place menus anywhere within a Builder-themed space

The inbuilt view and edit menus can now be edited or moved so you can, for example, move the Account menu up on to the top menu bar or in to a side-panel.
